Monday, Wednesday and Friday is busy mornings around Moody Housing Authority as volunteers meet each week. They come to help out with “Meals on Wheels” program for senior citizens unable to come to the center to eat.
Neville Allison, Juliette Pinkston and D.C. Perryman take 15 meals to appreciative residents. Other volunteers include, Janice Irvin, Elizabeth Smith, Ethlene Teague, Edith Ardel, Willie Kaldenbach, and Elizabeth Broderick.
Neville puts an added sparkle in their

eyes as he delivers his meals. He drives up to their homes in a 1931 Model A Ford. The vintage car has been in the family for 36 years. “I acquired it from my brother Peter earlier this years with the condition it remains in the Allison family. Ed Thompson was kind enough to go with me to Wilmington, Delaware to haul it back to Moody,” Allison said.
If you would like to be a “Meals on Wheels” volunteer, contact Janice Irvin at 853-2006.
