Moody High School graduates 1947 through 1965 honored Jeannette McGinnes with a reception Saturday afternoon, September 28, 2002, at Moody High School Commons. Punch and cookies were served to approximately 400 from all over the United States. Someone classed it as a huge classroom reunion. Graduates said it was fun going around and looking at each others name tags and remembering the good times at Moody High School. For many it was the first time back to Moody in many years. The students were able to enjoy an entire day of festivities. The Cotton Harvest Festival started at 10 a.m. with a huge parade on Ave. E.

Personal tributes and appreciation gift were presented to Jeannette during the afternoon. B. G. Welch introduced the speakers. They were, Charlie Spoede Bud, an accounting professor, from Waco, Rev. Dr. Elmer Hohle, Rita Burton Ross, Hope Hudson Huffman, Bud Jones, McLennan County, Sheriff Larry Lynch and Fred McDonald all former students of McGinnes. On behalf of the students, Fred McDonald presented a large engraved silver tray to her.
