James F. Reilly, II (Ph.D.) NASA Astronaut is assigned
to STS-104 Atlantis, where he is scheduled to perform three spacewalks
related to the assembly of the International Space Station (ISS). Countdown
clock for the STS-104 mission will be activated three days prior to liftoff,
which recently was rescheduled for July 12, 2001, 5:04 a.m. EDT. For daily Mission Updates

Crew Members: Orbiter -- Atlantis (OV-104) Commander - Steven Lindsey,
Pilot - Charles Hobaugh, Mission Specialists - Michael Gernhardt, James
Reilly, and Janet Kavandi. Astronaut James Reilly is married to the former
Jo Ann Strange. They have three children. Jo Ann's parents Robert and
Mildred Strange reside in Dallas. Her dad Robert is formerly of Moody.
Cotton Harvest Festival Committee relatives from Moody or Juliette Pinkston
and Gladys Burton. Others area relatives include, Bea Scott, Tom Gent,
Elizabeth Connell, Evelyn Richards, Sammie Davis, Rita Ross and Lynn Wooley.
Several plan to attend the launch. Reilly and his family attended the
Commodore Patience Strange descendants reunion Oct. 4, 1998 at Moody High
School Commons. He inspired the audience with awe as he spoke of his trip
into space on Space Shuttle STS-89 Endeavor, (January 22-31, 1998). It was
the eighth Shuttle-Mir docking mission during which the crew transferred
more than 9,000 pounds of scientific equipment, logistical hardware and
water from Space Shuttle Endeavour to Mir. In the fifth and last exchange of
a US Astronaut, STS-89 delivered Andy Thomas to Mir and returned with David
Wolf. Mission duration was 8 days, 19 hours and 47 seconds, traveling 3.6
million miles in 138 orbits of the Earth. For more information call up web

Update 7/24/2001:
Space Shuttle Atlantis Lands in Florida
Space Shuttle Atlantis touched down at 10:39 p.m. CDT Tuesday (03:39 GMT
Wednesday) at Kennedy Space Center, Fla., ending STS-104 -- a successful
mission to the International Space Station.
After delivering and installing a new portal for spacewalkers at the
international space station, space shuttle Atlantis and its crew of five
returned to Earth late Tuesday night, July 24, 2001. Because of storms
Atlantis added a 13th day to the flight.
Discovery is scheduled to lift off Aug. 9, 2001. For the latest
