Mother Neff State Park

Mother Neff State Park is located six miles west of Moody on the banks of the Leon River. Pecan, liveoak and cedar are a few of the many trees that invite visitors to enjoy their restful shade.
A native rock entrance, a club house and a tabernacle were built during the Roosevelt administration. Pat Neff gave the Park to the State of Texas in memory of his mother.
Bridle paths, trails, parking areas, picnic grounds are dotted all over the park. A tall tower is on the north side of the park. From its top one may view the winding river, lush grazing grounds and fertile fields.
The park is well kept and many people from near and far enjoy its quiet peacefulness and its beauty throughout the year.
